Concept Character Showreel 2019
Character Name: Rajkumari Bhawani (Princess Bhawani)
Concept Environment: Mayur Mahal (Peacock Palace)
• Executed the project from Concept to Final Render. The character was created by study of body proportions, facial proportions and facial features to make it look appealing. The thought was to keep her facial features like a young beautiful queen and to make her look as a positive character on screen. The whole story is associated with the main character. Created the model sheets for the character. The character is ready to be rigged.
• The environment’s interior was inspired by the interiors of the Indian forts and palaces. However, the artwork of motifs was created from scratch and peacock wall background concept is completely original.
• The jewelry was created considering a royal Indian queen look by giving it an antique look and using meenakari artwork style on the jewelry pieces. Lot of referencing was done for all the pieces.
• Designed the clothing as per Indian traditional and historic women clothing. Sculpted the fabric tiles for blouse, long skirt (lehenga) and its border completely in ZBrush to create a seamless embroidered fabric.
• Sculpted the eye like real human iris to make the eye look more natural and set the shader for subsurface scattering.
• Created and simulated all the cloth pieces in marvelous designer by understanding the real world cloth behavior, measurements, patterns & stitching.
• Texturing is done in Substance Painter, ZBrush and Render man. Look development done in substance painter & Render man using studio rig environment.
• Skin is entirely painted and sculpted from scratch in substance painter. The skin shader network was created using PxrSurface shader. The idea for the skin was to keep it not too cartoony and not too realistic, maintaining a balance between them and keeping the complexion of skin of the Indian ethnicity. Created donut bun hairstyle using XGen guides to give a neat, elegant and sophisticated look.
